THE STUDENTS’ UNION AND SPORT
Leeds Trinity Students’ Union exists to help you get the most out of your time at Leeds Trinity University.
The Students’ Union is the place to go to join a club or society, campaign for change and receive support. It’s also the heart of social life on campus, running StUdio and organising a diverse programme of events and activities throughout the year including Freshers’ Week and the Graduation Ball.
Although the Students’ Union works closely with the University, it’s an independent charity which is run by students, for students.
The charitable status of the Students’ Union also means that every penny of profit made is reinvested directly into helping our students reach their potential. When you enrol at Leeds Trinity, you can join this readymade network of students.
Supporting and representing you
Each year, students are elected to over 200 roles across the Union to ensure that your voice is heard at Leeds Trinity. You can help shape the student experience at Leeds Trinity by becoming a Course Rep, as a member of the Student Council or by running for the role of President or Vice-President.
As the Students’ Union is independent of the University, it also represents students and their interests on a local and national level. The Students’ Union also provides a free student advice service offering confidential support on mental health, general wellbeing, housing and academic-related issues.
The Students’ Union is home to multiple sports clubs, many of which participate in university, regional and national leagues under BUCS – British Universities and Colleges Sport.
Our clubs include everything from football and netball, to cheerleading and boxing. Clubs are open to new members of all abilities, so whether you’re looking to play socially or want to compete, you can always get involved.
Love Disney? Passionate about politics? The Students’ Union offers plenty of societies for you to join, including the Trinity Voices Choir, Islamic Society and LGBT+ Society.
All societies are run by students and are a great way to try something new, develop your confidence and make friends outside of your course.
If you have an interest that isn’t currently covered, the Students’ Union will support you in setting up your own sports club or society with like-minded students.
