THE STUDENTS' UNION AND SPORT
THE STUDENTS' UNION AND SPORT
Leeds Trinity Students’ Union (LTSU) exists to help you get the most out of your time at Leeds Trinity University.
LTSU is the place to go to join a club or society, campaign for change, and receive support. It’s also the heart of social life our Main Campus, organising a diverse programme of events and activities throughout the year including Freshers’ Week, Awards Evening and more.
Although LTSU works closely with the University, it’s an independent charity which is here for students, and run by students. The charitable status of LTSU also means that every penny of profit made is reinvested to provide the best experience for all students at Leeds Trinity.
When you enrol at Leeds Trinity, you can join this ready-made network of students.
Supporting and representing you
Each year, students are elected to over 200 roles across LTSU to ensure that your voice is heard at Leeds Trinity. You can help shape the student experience at Leeds Trinity by becoming a Course Rep, as a member of the Student Council, or by running for the role of President or Vice-President.
As the Students’ Union is independent of the university, it also represents students and their interests on a local and national level.
LTSU also provides a free student advice service offering confidential support on mental health, general wellbeing, housing and academic-related issues.
Sports Clubs
The Students’ Union is home to multiple sports clubs, many of which participate in university, regional and national leagues under BUCS – British University & College Sports.
Our clubs include everything from football and netball, to cheerleading and boxing. Clubs are open to new members of all abilities, so whether you’re looking to play socially or want to compete, you can always get involved.
Societies
Want to meet like-minded students? Looking for an opportunity to share and celebrate your culture? LTSU offers plenty of societies for you to join, including the Trinity Voices Choir, Islamic Society and LGBT+ Society.
All societies are run by students and are a great way to try something new, develop your confidence and make friends outside of your course.
If you have an interest that isn’t currently covered, the Students’ Union can support you in setting up your own sports club or society.
