STUDENT SUPPORT
STUDENT SUPPORT
Leeds Trinity is proud to be known as the University where you’re a name, not a number.
We’re committed to providing our students with a truly personal experience, offering a wide range of support at every stage of your university journey. We understand that no two students are the same, so we offer high quality support to help you to flourish during your time with us.
Student support services
Our friendly Student Support and Wellbeing team is here to help you with a range of personal and academic issues.
Our services include:
- Disability services
- The Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, including a broad range of one-to-one and group therapeutic support
- Student advisers for general support – available seven days a week
- Money Advice Service, including support with student finance issues
Resident mentors
Moving away from home for the first time can be exciting, but also a little daunting. To help you feel settled and supported, all our halls of residence have a live-in resident mentor. Resident mentors are experienced and trained students who make sure you settle into your new home and are available to answer your questions.
Personal tutor
As soon as you become a Leeds Trinity student, you’ll be assigned a personal tutor. They’ll take the time to get to know you and your learning needs throughout your degree, giving you personal academic support and helping you to stay on track with your studies.
myLTU
Available on mobile devices and desktop, myLTU is our personalised app that gives students access to everything they need for life at Leeds Trinity University. Whether you want to check your timetable, view your student emails or renew your Library loans, you can do it all through myLTU.
Cost of living support
We understand that the current cost of living crisis is affecting many of our students and their families right now. That’s why we’ve worked closely with Leeds Trinity Students’ Union to look at the ways we can support our students.
Our ‘Helping you with the cost*’ package includes a range of support, including the development of a new Study Support Fund, digital devices for loan, subsided hot meals and a free laundry service for resident students.
*The ‘Helping you with the cost’ package of support is in place for the 2022/23 academic year and will be frequently reviewed to ensure it remains suitable.
Blackbullion
Blackbullion is a financial wellbeing tool available for free to all Leeds Trinity University students. The website and app helps you to take control of your finances through engaging courses and helpful tools.
MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING
We know how much your mental health matters. That’s why we offer every student support through our Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.
Whether you’re dealing with personal issues, or just need someone to talk to, our team of qualified and experienced practitioners can provide you with the support and space you need to explore and understand your difficulties – no matter how big or small they are. The team can also point you in the right direction for further support, including local NHS and private services.
As well as one-to-one sessions, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Service also offers a range of free resources including self-help guides, online courses and workshops.
24/7 support
Students can also access free support through Togetherall, an online community which is mediated by psychological professionals. This means our students have a confidential and safe space to receive support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
UMII
UMII is a social networking app designed to reduce social isolation by helping our students build friendships with other students at Leeds Trinity University. The app is totally free to our students and is available from the day you register.
"The Mental Health and Wellbeing Service aims to provide a welcoming and supportive environment to all students."

CHAPLAINCY AND RELIGIOUS SUPPORT
Regardless of how faith guides you, the Chaplaincy team at Leeds Trinity is an open and accessible source of social, spiritual, and pastoral support to all our students.
Your time at university is also about more than just getting a degree – it’s about the people you meet, and the opportunities you have to explore your gifts and come together as a community. That’s why the Chaplaincy is here for you through it all; to celebrate your triumphs, to support you in your trials, and to offer plenty of opportunities to make a real difference in the world around you.
The Leeds Trinity University Chapel offers a weekly programme of worship and is open all day, every day, for all members of the University community to use for their own personal prayer and reflection.
Our refurbished Multifaith Prayer Room can be used for individual prayer or community worship. It’s open all day, including evenings, for students of all faiths. The space also hosts Friday Prayers which are led by a local Imam.
Whether you plan to get involved with lots of activities, you want to know where to go for a listening ear, or you are just the kind of person who needs a bit of quiet headspace every now and again – your Chaplaincy is here for you.
