YOUR CAREER PASSPORT
As well as providing relevant industry experience through embedded professional work placements, we want to ensure that every student knows the skills and attributes that employers are looking for and, more importantly, how they can be applied across a huge range of career opportunities.
Whether you start university with a clear idea of your career path, or you discover your next steps during your degree, our Career Passport is designed to help you record and showcase the employability skills you develop. Available for up to three years after you finish your studies, the Career Passport will track your progress and provide you with a bank of evidence that you can use to support job applications and interviews and launch your career.
Through our Career Passport, you will:
- Develop a clear picture of the skills and behaviours employers are looking for
- Understand how you develop these skills and behaviours through the way they are embedded in your course and each of your modules
- Have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and experience through active learning, assessments, professional work placements and work-based projects
- Gather evidence throughout your studies to show how you are developing your employability skills
- Become confident in your ability to apply your skills and experience to a broad range of job opportunities
PROFESSIONAL WORK PLACEMENTS
Experience matters. That’s why we build professional work placements into our standard undergraduate degrees.
How does it work?
Careers+Placements will work with you to find your perfect placement or help you arrange your own, whether that’s in Leeds, another part of the UK or even abroad. The team will also arrange a series of workshops and events to boost your confidence and give you a taste of what your placement will be like.
What are the benefits?
During your placement, you might be supporting an organisation with their social media, writing reports, conducting research, working with children and young people, or supporting an event or project. Whatever you do, you’ll learn new skills, gain experience in a role that’s directly related to your degree, and secure valuable employer references for your CV.
Our placement partners
Our employer partners cover a wide range of organisations and industries, including:
- BBC
- Bradford Bulls Rugby League Club
- Citizens Advice
- Coca Cola
- David Lloyd Leisure
- ITV
- Leeds City Council
- Mind Mental Health
- Refugee Council
- West Yorkshire Police
- Working Title Films
- World Fifa League
“Placements help you understand more about the area of work you want to go into once you graduate, and help you create connections so you have an easier time getting into that line of work. It also gives you another set of experience to add to your CV.”

INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Every undergraduate student at Leeds Trinity University has the opportunity to study, volunteer or work abroad as part of their degree.
Choosing to spend time abroad is your chance to experience a new culture first-hand and improve your confidence. It’s also a fantastic way to learn a language and develop a wide range of new skills that will help you stand out in the graduate job market.
We partner with universities, institutions, employers and charities across the world to give you amazing opportunities to have an international experience. From Australia and the USA, to Italy and Malaysia, the world is yours to explore.
We’ve designed plenty of international opportunities to suit a range of circumstances and budgets. Depending on your course, you can choose between:
Studying abroad for a full semester
Spend a semester abroad at one of our partner institutions across the globe, earning credits towards your degree.
Studying abroad for a full academic year
Spend a full academic year at one of our partner institutions and graduate from a four-year international version of your course.
International volunteering
Make a difference to international communities – all while earning credits towards your degree.
An international placement
We build professional work placements into every standard undergraduate degree, so why not complete yours abroad?
Short international programmes
Summer schools and other short courses are an excellent way to connect with like-minded students abroad while learning about a different culture and language.
Global collaborations
Build relationships abroad and gain global perspective without travelling – many courses include virtual collaboration projects, where you can work with students across the world.
“I have grown and learnt more about myself through living away from home in a totally new environment. It has been a great stepping stone ahead of my transition to a professional career.”
